As the UK government’s Apprenticeship Levy scheme enters its fourth year IEDP pauses to assess the current ‘levy economy’ from both corporate and provider perspectives – and crucially to explore first-hand how companies are utilising the scheme to successfully upskill their leadership talent and develop their workforce for the future.

A year ago, the BBC reported 55 of the UK’s largest employers each lost more than £1m from their apprenticeship levy ‘pot’ in 2019, while a further 746 lost more than £100,000 each. Meanwhile there is an urgent need amongst UK businesses to upskill and reskill their people and develop their future leaders.

Join us on Tuesday 18th May as we convene a dynamic live panel discussion with expert voices from both the corporate and provider sides of the Apprenticeship Levy, including Julie Hyett, UK & Ireland Talent Lead for AON, Alasdair Poole, Executive Client Director at Cranfield Executive Development, with IEDP’s Roddy Millar facilitating.

  • What are the benefits of the current Apprenticeship Levy scheme in its latest form, for organizations like yours, in developing your leadership talent?
  • What is the significance to employers and their leadership talent of a move away from academic qualifications/assessment for the Senior Leader Apprenticeship toward an Executive Education approach?
  • How can organizations drive awareness in their talent populations, about a more applied and commercially driven Senior Leader Apprenticeship. What can be done to engage and embed the new approach?

What are some successful strategies for engaging your leadership talent in a targeted way for maximum impact for your organisation?
