Designed for middle to senior managers seeking to assess the impact of their leadership styles, Mt Eliza Executive Education’s Leadership Development Program (LDP) is a five-day open program taking place throughout the year, including this July 2011. Part of the University of Melbourne and Melbourne Business School, Mt Eliza runs a number of leadership programs in addition to the LDP, including The Emotionally Intelligent Leader, Mindful Leadership and Maximizing your Leadership Potential.
The LDP was developed for Mt Eliza by the Centre for Creative Leadership (CCL), and provides participants with the knowledge and strategies to motivate, develop and inspire their employees. During the course of the program, five key areas that have been identified as essential to leadership success are worked on and are as follows:
1. Self awareness;
2. Thinking systematically;
3. Communication;
4. Learning agility; and
5. Influence.
The teaching faculty includes Clarence Da Gama Pinto, who is also the program leader of the school’s flagship Advanced Management Program. He has worked on programs with organizations such as Shell, Shweppes, Pfizer and Hilton Asia Pacific.
Previous participants of the LDP in particular include Matthew Braine from the National Australia Bank, who says “there is no doubt in my mind that I will become a much better leader as a result of my attendance on this program.”
