Founded in 1973, IE (Instituto de Empresa) is characterised by an innovative and entrepreneurial spirit since its inception, a truly international vision of business and management, and a firm commitment to promote ethical and socially responsible business practices. IE is part of a small percentage of schools that are fully recognised by AACSB, AQUIS and AMBA, the three principal international accrediting bodies in the field of business education. And its master and executive education programs are consistently ranked among the top twenty in the world by international media like FT, The Economist, and WSJ. These main pillars form the cornerstone of all IE’s programs and activities:

Entrepreneurship

Founded by entrepreneurs, IE has embarked on numerous initiatives designed to foster business creation as an engine for growth, value generation, employment and social well-being: - ICEVED, a virtual portal that serves as an interface for 24 international schools and links investors with entrepreneurs. - The Najeti Chair, leads researches in the field of business creation and heads the Spanish market analysis included in the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor Report. - The IE Venture-Lab, provides a support framework for IE students’ business projects in the form of privileged access to service pools for business start-ups. - NETI Project, designed by IE and Amena promotes the creation of technology-based businesses. (i.e.: Business Angels School, an information center where private investors offer specific training in the field of funding start-ups and business plan analysis.)

Our model is based on applying knowledge to business organisation’s needs, using<TEE< methodologies that glean maximum benefit from the use of technologies and the innovative design of programs. This innovative character enables us to constanly revise and update all areas of IE.

Social Responsibility

Through specialized Centres and Chairs, IE has paved the way for a greater awareness of these issues in the international business arena. IE was selected to be the General Secretariat of Global Compact Spain, a United Nations sponsored initiative that promotes responsible corporate citizenship so that business can be part of the solution to the challenges of globalization.
