Aston Business School is committed to creating and transferring knowledge that enables, innovates and inspires. 60 years of pioneering research and teaching has made the school internationally renowned, whilst the warm community spirit has created a positive difference to the lives of all of our students, alumni, businesses and organisations.
Organisations are more complex and sensitive to global issues than ever. Today’s business leaders need to think – and act – differently. Which is where the Centre for Executive Development at Aston Business School comes in. We work with you to create effective, tailored executive development initiatives to raise the capability of your leaders. These are designed to help your executives think more clearly and creatively, inspiring them to lift your organisation to greater success. Our goal is to develop your people – individually and collectively – and to equip them with all they need to make your strategy work.
As we often work in cohorts of 20-25 at a time, our programmes also build rich new networks of internal collaboration.
We create executive learning environments. These are practical, focused executive development programmes where leaders can explore new and proven business techniques. They build personal confidence and effectiveness, which can have a positive impact throughout the organisation. We work together with clients to co-design and co-deliver dynamic, relevant programmes. These raise performance capability and build team spirit, helping fulfill corporate strategy and deliver measurable results.
And it doesn’t stop there. We continue
The research capacity of ABS stems from our international faculty. We have over 100 academic staff, almost all of whom are research active. We bring you not only the broad portfolio of tried and tested business school tools but also Aston Business School’s long track record of successfully devising and delivering executive development programmes, our peer-tested fresh insight springing from what the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise (RAE) judged to be ‘world leading’ and ‘internationally excellent’ research, and our standing as one of the top 1% of business schools in the world, and one of a very few to have triple accreditation from EFMD EQUIS, AMBA and AACSB.

All of our activities are underpinned by rigorous and relevant research. Our research aims to advance understanding of economics, business, work lives, society and ultimately the global community. A key indicator of the quality of our research (the 2008 Research Assessment Exercise) confirmed our position as one of the leading business schools in the UK. In a submission which included 95% of our academic staff, over 98% of our research activity was judged to be either ‘world leading’ or ‘internationally excellent’. We host a number of research centres that develop focused knowledge in many critical areas. Current Research Centres include:
