Course Description
Two internationally-acclaimed universities,
Three of the world's most respected graduate schools,
Four richly diverse continents,
Six intensely challenging international modules,
And the unquantifiable value of your peers' insights,
experience and passions.
"These are the building blocks of the Global Executive Master of Business Administration program.
GEMBA is much more than a typical MBA program.
It gives you a good foundation, but it also enables you to think about problems in a new way.
During the 11 day modules, with the expectations of professors, the project work and the drive of other students, a whole host of solutions come to mind for your current business issues. It all makes you want to make the most of your time in each location."

Program Highlights
The Georgetown-ESADE Global Executive MBA program mirrors the complexity of the global business environment by integrating and packaging multi-disciplinary information within modules; incorporating participants’ diversity of experience into classroom discussions; using residencies as opportunities to extend and apply new skills and capabilities; and incorporating international perspectives in every aspect of the program.
COHORT AND LEARNING COMMUNITY
As a GEMBA participant, you will be challenged and stretched by both the faculty and your classmates. We carefully select seasoned, high-potential participants whose diverse careers, skill sets and cultural backgrounds complement your own, and one of the most vibrant features of the GEMBA program is the team approach to learning. You will work collaboratively on coursework and projects and be encouraged to draw upon the skills, knowledge and backgrounds of your teammates. This dynamic interplay of interests and strengths increases the value of the experience exponentially for the whole cohort. You will create friendships and professional relationships that will last a lifetime and you will benefit from an expanded worldview, a broader knowledge base and greater confidence resolving complex organizational challenges across functions.
INNOVATIVE MODULE DESIGN
Each GEMBA module is a "deep immersion" experience that integrates core MBA courses, a specially designed integrative course and a series of networking events and special topics and briefings. All elements of the module are developed to take greatest advantage of the residency location. While core MBA courses ensure that you master fundamental business disciplines and general management skills, the integrative courses combine these disciplines and challenge you to apply your "soft" management skills to live cases, industry simulations and consulting-style projects.
Every GEMBA module also gives you time to extend your personal and professional network and enhance your global perspective. GEMBA networking events will introduce you to local Georgetown and ESADE alumni as well as leading local business executives and government officials. During "Special Topic" and "Academic Briefing" sessions, you will investigate and discuss current business and management challenges with prominent authors, scholars and practitioners, and you will be positioned to succeed in three significant efforts: your Master's project, the LEAD program and the Conference on Globalization.
MASTER'S PROJECT
During the final nine months of the GEMBA program, all participants will work with a faculty supervisor to define, write and present a master's project. Typically, the master's project will be based on an individual research or "consulting"project. The project is an opportunity for each participant to apply the knowledge that they have gained in the classroom to a real-world problem. It is also an opportunity for each participant to examine a business issue, organization or industry that will further their career and/or provide immediate value to their organization.
LEADERSHIP AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Woven into the fabric of the Global EMBA program, the Leadership and Professional Development program augments the academic curriculum by fostering both personal growth and professional development.
Through ongoing personalized evaluations, individual and group activities and private coaching sessions, the program guides each participant in developing an in-depth assessment and understanding of his or her leadership skills and style. The rich insights provided by these evaluations, along with the support given by individual coaches, enable participants to gain a better understanding of themselves, clarify their ambitions and develop strategies and methods for achieving their professional goals.
CONFERENCE ON GLOBALIZATION
The GEMBA program culminates in the "Georgetown-ESADE Conference on Globalization", jointly hosted on the Georgetown University campus by the McDonough School of Business, the Walsh School of Foreign Service and ESADE. The conference is organized around a series of special-topic presentations and round-table discussions chaired and moderated by invited academics, corporate executives, senior government officials and NGO leaders. GEMBA participants play a key role in selecting and developing the special topics of the conference, and they may also serve as presenters or panelists during the conference.
